Names of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s twins revealed

Update : 04 Jul 2017, 10:20 PM
Last month, Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed their new twins into the world while the rest of the planet’s population anxiously waited to welcome the two new members of the Carter clan. A week later since the birth, fans learned the sex of the babies and they rejoiced at the news that Beyonce had given birth to a healthy boy and a girl. Now the names of the babies have been unofficially revealed. TMZ reports that Beyoncé and Jay-Z have named their new twins Rumi and Sir, and just like their older sister, Blue Ivy, their names will be trademarked as well. The names became public when Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s company filed paperwork that officially listed the names Rumi Carter and Sir Carter as registered trademarks, which will be used for a bevy of different products. Rumi appears to have been chosen in reference to the 13th-century poet and Muslim scholar Jalaluddin al-Rumi, and the name, Sir, is mentioned in one of his acclaimed poems: “Bring the pure wine of love and freedom. But sir, a tornado is coming. More wine, we’ll teach this storm a thing or two about whirling.” While this might not be the true origin of the names, the explanation is fitting given the couple’s artistic roots. Even though these information have become public about the infant Carter twins, Beyoncé and Jay-Z actually have not officially announced their new babies yet.
