A reboot of The Office is not out of the question, admitted showrunner Greg Daniels.
Collider reported that Daniels is still interested in reviving the hugely popular workplace comedy 'The Office, but as of today he is preoccupied with other interests.
"It’s not impossible for sure. I would want to be involved, and I’ve got two other shows I’m working on right now,” Daniels told Collider.
Daniels, who was the showrunner for the first four seasons of The Office and the co-creator of Parks and Recreation, further talked about the format of a possible reunion.
"I think [a revival is] probably more likely now that the show is on Peacock, but no plans right now certainly...The weird thing about that is when we ended it, we jumped forward a year and a lot of [the characters] aren't working [at Dunder Mifflin] anymore. But it would be fun to find some lost episodes and shoot them as if they were back in 2010 or something."
After Netflix, The Office has found a new home at NBC Universal-owned Peacock streaming service - to the dismay of many. The platform released an exclusive, never-before-seen cold open from The Office's ninth season on January 1.
A few cast members have already expressed their interest in a reunion including Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski, who portrayed Pam Beesly and Jim Halpert, respectively. Moreover, Leslie David Baker, who played Stanley Hudson, is set to star in a spinoff based on his character, funded by a Kickstarter campaign he had launched last year.
