Co-written by Helal Mohiuddin and Zayed Siddiki, a new film titled Tale of an Ecliptic Time, stars veteran actor and recipient of Bangladesh Shilpakala Medal, Jayanto Chattopadhyay in the role of a progressive writer-painter.
The film portrays the allegoric defeat of terrorism and fundamentalism to the spirit, conscience and knowledge of novelty and humanism.
It frames the psychological instability of an artist and his confrontation with militants who want to kill him. The film takes a stance against fundamentalism and militancy.
So far it has been screened in 15 international film festivals around the globe and grabbed three awards including the Grand Jury Prize at Peace Film Festival 2019.
Director Zayed Siddiki is an aspiring Bangladeshi new generation filmmaker based in Dhaka, who has previously written and directed short fiction and documentaries.
Zayed’s film is set to receive a world digital premiere on October 1 at 7pm, on the OTT platform Lagvelki.
Anyone can watch the film at www.lagvelki.com by a digital payment of 100 BDT and the film will be available on the site for the next six months.
