Indian actor Sameer Sharma has been found dead, hanging in his rented apartment in Malad in Mumbai.
His body had already started to decompose when Malad police found it hanging from the kitchen ceiling in his flat, leading them to suspect that the 44-year-old actor committed suicide two to three days ago, reports India Today.
No suicide note was recovered at the spot. However, the police are still searching the actor’s house for evidence.
According to Malad police, Sameer had shifted to that rented flat in Chincholi Bunder, Malad West in February 2020, having previously resided in another flat in Malad earlier.

The actor allegedly went through health issues in the past but recovered from them and resumed acting.
Sameer worked in both television and films. He is popular from his role of Shaurya Maheshwari in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. He has appeared in the shows Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Jyoti, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Du, and Left Right Left, among others. He is also listed as a cast member in films such as Hasee Toh Phasee and Ittefaq, reports Hindustan Times.
His suicide comes at a time when the Indian movie industry is still reeling from the death of another Indian actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found hanging at his Bandra home on June 14, also reportedly having committed suicide.
