Russell Crowe did not want to be Wolverine

Update : 23 May 2017, 10:31 PM
It’s no news that Bryan Singer wanted Dougray Scott for the role of Wolverine. But it was little known that he was also considering signing Russell Crowe for the same role before Hugh Jackman finally stepped in and took over. Dougray may have turned down the offer because it was conflicting with his Mission: Impossible 2 schedules, but why did Crowe? According to a recent statement from the Gladiator star, it was because he found it “wolfy”. “Bryan was a friend at the time and he was really putting the pressure on,” Crowe says at Australian radio show Fitzy and Wippa while recently co-hosting it. “If you remember, Maximus has a wolf at the centre of his cuirass, and he has a wolf as his companion... Which I thought was going to be a bigger deal (at the time). So I said no because I didn’t want to be ‘wolfy’, like Mr Wolf,” he adds.
