Actor Ziaul Faruque Apurba and wife Nazia Hassan declared the shocking news through separate social media posts on May 17 that they have officially headed their separate ways. Nazia wished a "happy and prosperous life" to Apurba, while the actor reflected on their "wonderful journey" in their respectful posts.
Nazia wrote: "...Unfortunately we are no longer together for numerous reasons but I wish happy and prosperous life for him. He has given me the best gift ever my son- AYYASH and beautiful family members to love and cherish. And I'll be grateful for that. Please don't judge any of us for this decision..."
Apurba's post followed three hours later: "It is with a heavy heart, I'm sharing with all of you that my wonderful journey of 9 years with Nazia Hassan has come to an unwanted turn and has left me a bit perplexed. Although this is not what we intended for ourselves but sadly this is where life has brought us today..."
Both of them concluded the posts by asking the media to be respectful of their decision. The couple married in 2011. Previously, he was married briefly to actor Sadia Jahan Prova.
