Farooque Bhai Project, the brainchild of Toronto based Bangladeshi musician Issa Farooque, will drop his newest EP Gin Bhoot Tonic on May 4th.
He first came into the scene in 2018 with the release of his popular debut album Obostha Bujhe Bebostha. His first single Shokaleo received critical acclaim and is a radio favourite in Bangladesh. It was also featured in the anthology film Sincerely Yours, Dhaka, currently on Netflix.
With Golapi, he showed his multi-genre prowess while keeping the Farooque Bhai soul at its core. The music video was directed by Nuhash Humayun.
“The EP would be my foray into Bangla hip-hop - giving it a fun playful twist in my own way,” Farooque said. “With 4 tracks, I wanted to highlight on 4 unique sounds: fusing Bossa-nova with rap, dancehall, funk-pop and pure trap as I envision it.”
Shuno Pls - the intro track of the EP and has already been creating waves.
All tracks in the Gin Bhoot Tonic EP have been produced and recorded in Toronto and features collaborations with big names such as Beats By DMS (XDProMusic) - who have produced music for Diljit Dosanjh (Kylie+Kareena) and the movie Gully Boy (NY Se Mumbai).
