The 'Babydoll' singer Kanika Kapoor was taken to a hospital in Lucknow after her return from London on March 10. She tested positive for coronavirus.
Shortly after, the news of her diagnosis created an uproar on social media as netizens lambasted the singer for allegedly hiding her travel history and dodging the screening at the airport.
On charges of negligence, an FIR was later lodged against the singer on March 20.
After her return from London, instead of self-quarantining, Kanika went to parties, attended by nearly 300 people.
She later wrote on social media: "For the past 4 days I have had signs of flu, I got myself tested and it came positive for Covid-19. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward.
"At this stage I would like to urge you all to practice self isolation and get tested if you have the signs."
Her post seems to have enraged netizens more, who continued to blame her for deliberately putting lives at risk amid the pandemic.
Kanika deleted her post on Thursday.
