Update : 06 Mar 2020, 07:26 PM

Joy Bangla Concert will be held tomorrow for the sixth consecutive year at the Bangladesh Army Stadium, Dhaka.

Joy Bangla Concert is organized each year by Young Bangla-CRI on the day of the historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The event, staged at the Bangladesh Army stadium, Dhaka, is one of largest musical events in Bangladesh.

This year, there will be performances by popular rock bands, modern pop and folk artists who will cover their own music along with modern rock renditions of the patriotic songs broadcast by the Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendra radio station in 1971.

Since this year's concert will be the first mega event of 'Mujib Borsho' - the 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman - Young Bangla has arranged a mix of entertaining and patriotic music performances from the leading musical bands and solo artists along with a host of other never before seen attractions.

This year's line-up includes: F Minor, Minar, Avoid Rafa, Shunno, Vikings, Fuad & Friends, Lalon, Arbovirus, Chirkut, Cryptic Fate and Nemesis.

The concert will also feature graphical representations on Bangabandhu's historic 7th March speech of 1971, which was later recognized by UNESCO as part of the world’s documentary heritage.

Except for 1,000 VVIPs, tens of thousands of music lovers are expected  to enjoy the concert. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be in the audience.

In order to organize the event successfully, Centre for Research and Information on Tuesday held a coordination meeting with the representatives of the agencies concerned, sponsors, and media partners, at its Dhanmondi-32 office.

Speaking at the event, CRI Trustee Nasrul Hamid Bipu said no political identity will be considered in allowing access to the concert venue, in an effort to make the concert free from any unwanted situations.

People without tickets will not be allowed admission, he said.

Dhaka Tribune is a media partner of the concert which will be aired on TV from 1pm to 10pm.
