A 3-day photography exhibition titled, My Care, My Right highlighted the compassionate stories of the patients who are suffering from incurable ailments.
Beginning on Monday, the exhibition which was open for all, ended on Wednesday.
To celebrate the World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, Palliative Care Society of Bangladesh (PCSB), in association with World Child Cancer (WCC) and Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance (WHPCA) organized the exhibition at the Nalinikanta Vattashali Exhibition Hall, Bangladesh National Museum.
Participating photographers at the event are: K M Jahangir Alam,Sakib Pratyay and Juthika Dewry(Gayatree), Abtahi Rahman, Uzan Rahman, Zereen Tasnim, Pranto Saha, and Tasawar Islam Tausif
The exhibition was managed by Inventors Puppet and the Begart Institute of Photography and supported by Shunte Ki Pao.
State Minister of Cultural Affairs Mr K M Khalid, MP inaugurated the exhibition while President of the Palliative Care Society of Bangladesh Dr Syed Sadek Mohammad Ali presided over the session.
Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Professor Dr Kanak Kanti Barua and Secretary General of Nirapad Sarak Chai Elias Kanchan were present as special guests at the inaugural ceremony which was followed by performances of bands like Pencil and Yatri.
The first session on the closing day began with recitation of poems by Swarshruti followed by a cultural performance presented by the members of the Centre for Palliative Care family at 5pm.
The ceremony ended with performance from musician Sahed and his band Gachh.
