Update : 28 Apr 2017, 10:19 PM
The Sixth Sense director M Night Shyamalan has announced that his new film will be a sequel to both Split, a multiple-personality thriller starring James McAvoy, and Unbreakable, a superhero film starring Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson from 2000. Lead actors from both the films, Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson and James McAvoy, will team up to act in the new film, titled Glass. Shyamalan revealed the news in a series of tweets. He tweeted, “My new film is the sequel to #Unbreakable AND #Split. It was always my dream to have both films collide in this third film.” For seventeen years, fans have been waiting for a sequel to Unbreakable, the Bruce Willis super hero drama, until the actor made a surprise cameo appearance at the end of the director’s latest flick Split - revealing the two films as being part of the same universe. Shyamalan disclosed the cast of Glass in a tweet, “The iconic Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn. The incomparable Samuel L. Jackson will return as Elijah Price/Mr. Glass. The virtuoso James McAvoy returns as Kevin Wendell Crumb, Patricia, Dennis, Hedwig, Barry, Jade, Orwell, The Beast, Heinrich, Norma, Pol. And the prodigy, Anya Taylor—Joy will return as Casey Cooke.” In another tweet, Shyamalan teased that he has already wrapped up writing of the film - “Okay. Here we go. Finished the new script.” The film is rumoured to be coming out in January, 2019.
