Iti, Tomari Dhaka to be released next month

 The film has recently received its censor certificate from Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB)

After participating in numerous international film festivals across the globe, Iti, Tomari Dhaka (Sincerely Yours, Dhaka), the first film anthology of Bangladesh, will hit local theatres in November The film has recently received its censor certificate from Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB), according to a recent press statement from the film’s production company Impress Telefilm..

The film premiered at last year’s Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in A Window on Asian Cinema section.

“Iti, Tomari Dhaka” is an anthology of 11 short films with the central theme being the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. Each short deals with the struggles of the lower and middle income people struggling to survive in this city.

The short films were made by 11 bangladeshi flmmakers- Abdullah Al Noor, Golam Kibria Farooki, Krishnendu Chattopadhyay, Mahmudul Islam, Md Robiul Alam, Mir Mukarram Hossain, Nuhash Humayun, Rahat Rahman, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Syed Saleh Ahmed Sobhan and Tanvir Ahsan.

The film will star more than 30 characters in lead roles including Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Iresh Zaker, Shatabdi Wadud, Lutfor Rahman George, Tropa Mazumdar and many more.

In October of last year, “Sincerely Yours, Dhaka” had its world premiere at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival, held in South Korea. In January the film won the Best Original Screenplay award at the Jaipur International Film Festival in India. 

The film also participated in the Kolhapur International Film Festival, Chennai International Film Festival, Jogja NETPAC Asian Film Festival in Indonesia, Third Eye Asian International Film Festival in Mumbai, Aurangabad International Film Festival, Independent Film Festival of Chennai, and the Asian Film Festival, Pune.
