Director Himu Akram is always known for making TV dramas on unique stories. Most of his dramas feature memorable characters, who take the audience back to their childhood and teenage years. In that same spirit, Akram is making a new TV drama for Channel i, titled Abdul Matiner Birat Itihash. According to a press release, Akram is both the writer and director of the TV drama.
The plot concerns a character named Abdul Matin, whose father has given him an ultimatum about passing the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, which he has already failed thrice. This will be Matin’s fourth and last attempt in passing the exam, and he will be sitting for just one subject- history. If he passes, his father will gift him with a brand new CDI bike and grant him the permission to marry a beautiful wife. Should Matin fail, he will have to leave his home forever.
Matin hopes to marry the girl of his dreams, named Jolly, who is reputed to be more beautiful than film actor Shabana. Matin dedicatedly begins his preparation. Many of his family and friends decide to help him out by using both legal and illegal means, to ensure that he passes his exam. The crux of the story is the historic events that occur leading up to and during his History exam.
The main character of the drama will be played by AKM Hasan. The drama will also star Urmila Srabonti Kar, Rifat Chowdhury, Chhobi, Milon Bhatra, Sanjib Ahmed, Razu Ahsan and Badal Aftab.
Regarding the drama, Akram said: “The story will depict elements such as life in a village, preparation for the SSC exam, attempts to cheat in the exam, prayers from imams, and so on. While writing the story, I went back to a life we saw 20-25 years ago. The story is written to show the life of people from that decade. I am pretty much trying to keep themes such as love, relationship troubles, laughter, arguments, and minor conflicts. I believe the viewers will really enjoy watching the TV drama.”
