The 35th edition of Iran’s largest annual film festival, Fajr International Film Festival, will be held from April 21 to 28, in Tehran and Syed Minhaj Hossain, a young Bangladeshi director, is going to join the festival’s Talent Camp this year.
Syed Minhaj, who has a diploma in VFX and Animation from College of DuPage, Chicago, represented Bangladesh in Asia Summer Program of Universiti Malaysia Perlis in 2013. The young filmmaker, who is working as a freelance director in various TV dramas and Films, has a project under construction titled Supto Doroja, directed by VFX Prince. Minhaj is the VFX and art director of the science fiction film. Other work by the young director include telefilm Super Boyfriend.
Founded in 1982, FIFF is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to quality local and international films. Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema. Every year, veteran directors and new filmmakers present their works in the festival. The 35th edition of the festival is going to be arranged under the supervision of the Iranian filmmaker Reza Mirkarimi of Daughter fame.
