Armeen Musa to release acoustic videos

Update : 25 Mar 2017, 01:55 PM
In partnership with Radio Next 93.2 FM, Armeen Musa's troupe, The Armeen Musa Band, is all set to release a set of live videos. The band recently wrapped up the recording of four live songs, which will be released over the next four weeks on YouTube. This will begin with the release of a cover of George Harrison’s “Bangla Desh” tonight. The next releases will be those of Armeen’s, “Simultaneously” and “Jokhon Chole Jao,” from her last album Simultaneously. Later, the band will release another cover of Swedish singer Robyn’s dance-pop ballad, “Dancing on My Own.” Scionara, Dipti and Avita, three members of Ghaashphoring Choir with whom Armeen Musa has been performing in several shows including the Jazz & Blues Festival in last January, assisted her as backing vocals in the videos. Keeping the original composition intact, Armeen Musa re-arranged the music for the songs. “Some of my fans asked for a live version of my album Simultaneously. It’s a revisit of the songs. For my original songs, I added or got rid of a few things to make it a more polished acoustic version. For the covers, we tried to make it personal,” she told Showtime. “As a composer, it’s an interesting project for me because I got the opportunity to experiment with minimal instruments (just a piano) and backing vocals,” she added. Prithwi Raj, a singer and music producer of Radio Next, produced the live acoustic songs. A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Armeen Musa has also been working on an album of Nazrul Sangeet and classical Bangla songs over the last one and half years.
