The grand finale of “STAR-UIU Documentary Festival 2017” was held on Saturday, March 18 at Star Cineplex, Bashundhara City. Md Twoki Islam from American International University of Bangladesh achieved the first position and the second position was secured by Md Kawsar Amin Shuvro from the same university, while the third spot went to Wasi Noor Azam from Independent University of Bangladesh.
The winner will get a chance to obtain practical experience by joining a local film /drama production, and a chance to join a film production workshop under international faculties as well as an opportunity to convert his documentary into a full length one. Also, there is a chance to enroll his documentary at International Documentary Festivals.
All the winners received gift hampers from event partners. The competition was presented by Rexona while the training partner of the event was International Academy of Film and Media. Other event partners include PIZZA INN, The ACME Agrovet & Beverages Ltd, UIU The Art & Film Club and AHMED Food Products (Pvt) Ltd.
The festival was jointly organised by Star Cineplex and United International University (UIU). All the documentaries were screened at Star Cineplex where Afsana Mimi and Enamul Karim Nirjhor and Abu Sayeed were present as members of the jury board.
