Popular television actor Ahona Rahman, who was hospitalized on January 8 after being seriously injured in a road accident following a scuffle with a truck driver in the capital’s Uttara area, returned home on Wednesday. The actor’s cousin, Liza Yasmin Mitu, confirmed the news.
Mitu told the press that Ahona is now feeling well. She was admitted to Apollo Hospital and no signs of fractures were found during medical investigations. Mitu also said that Ahona’s doctors have confirmed serious tissue damage on her waist and have advised complete bed rest for the next one and a half months. If her condition does not improve by that time, then she will be taken abroad for further treatment.
The production phase of the TV drama she was working on is currently on halt. A big sum of money was spent for her treatment and her car was also seriously damaged during the crash. Mitu said she is supposed to visit the police to discuss about compensationdue to the accident.
Ahona was seriously injured in the road accident on the morning of January 8. She was driving back to her Uttara home with her cousin Mitu from a shooting. The car was hit when a truck driver took a wrong turn.
Later that day, Mitu filed a case with Uttara police station.
Severely injured Ahona was immediately taken to Uttara Crescent Hospital, and later transferred to Apollo Hospital on January 14 for further treatment as her condition was deteriorating.
Based on a tip-off, police arrested accused truck driver Sumon, 27, from Savar, and his assistant Rumman, 16, from Khejur Bagan area of Ashulia, in separate drives on January 12.
The arrested driver and his assistant have recently confessed to the crime in court.
