Sohana Saba signed up for the role of principal female character in Epar Opar. Sourov Chattopadhyay, known for his role in the popular Indian-Bangla TV serial Ogo Bideshini, is going to debut on the big screen opposite Saba as the male lead.
The shooting for the film is scheduled to start from next week at several locations in India.
Sohana Saba, a diverse actress with a long career but with a limited number of films under her belt, was highly celebrated and applauded for her work by both viewers and critics, especially for Kobori’s Aaina, Morshedul Islam’s Khelaghor and Priyotomeshu, Murad Parvej’s Chandragrahan and Brihannala, and lastly her most recent Tollywood venture, Shororipu.
Talking about her latest endeavour, Saba said, “Haranath Chakraborty is a famous director. Working with a man of his stature is nothing less than a dream turned into reality. Besides, the story is compiled from true incidents that happened during our Liberation War. I am very happy. I hope this film will add a new dimension to my career.”
Sohana Saba debuted with a role in the film Aaina, while Ayon Chakrabarty’s Shororipu was her entry ticket to Tollywood.
The 31 year old actress received enormous plaudits from the people and media of Kolkata because of her presence and mesmerising performance in Shororipu. The movie also brought luck and fame to the actress as she will be seen in more films of the industry.
“I am involved with a few other Tollywood projects. I’ll announce them once they are confirmed. But as of now, I want to concentrate on Epar Opar,” Saba added.
Debjyoti Mishra is all set to direct and compose songs for the movie, which is going to be made under the banner of ANM Global Films. A Bangladeshi production house named Bridge Limited is also involved with the production of the film. Epar Opar is scheduled to be released this year in both India and Bangladesh.
