Documentary ‘Rajadhiraj Razzak’ to hit theatres

The 90-minute-long documentary titled “Rajadhiraj Razzak” will get its theatrical premiere on Star Cineplex in Dhaka on August 21

A feature length documentary based on the life of legendary Bangladeshi film actor Abdur Razzak, commonly referred to as Nayak Raj Razzak, will get its theatrical premiere on Star Cineplex in Dhaka on August 21, marking the hero’s first death anniversary. 

The 90-minute-long documentary titled “Rajadhiraj Razzak” was directed by television personality Shykh Seraj.

The life, struggles and success of the hero in his long and acclaimed film career is the main focus of the documentary. 

The shorter 27-minute-long version of the documentary had its television premiere on Channel i on August 17.

The official press event of the project took place at the Channel i headquarters in Dhaka on Thursday. At the event, Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu said: “Shykh Seraj has created a great example by pointing out and compiling the important milestones of the Nayak Raj’s life and career. The films of the Nayak Raj will soon be separately archived through the Bangladesh Film Archives.” 

Lyricist Gazi Mazharul Anwar, film actor Farooq, director Amzad Hossain, composer Alauddin Ali, artist Abdul Hadi, Khurshid Alam, film actor Ferdous, Purnima, Misha Shawdagar, film critic Chinmoy Mutsuddi, Shafiuzzaman Khan, the Nayak Raj’s wife Khairunnisa and two sons Bapparaj and Samrat were present at the press event.
