Popular Bangla band Meghdol will be performing at Jahangirnagar University’s Selim Al Din Muktomoncho on Tuesday at a freshers reception program. The event titled “Welcoming the 47th Batch,” hosted by Bangladesh Students’ Union’s Jahangiranagar University unit will start from Tuesday evening where economist Anu Mohammad, professor of the university’s cconomics department and Nasim Akhter Hossain, professor of the university’s government and politics department and Liton Nandi, president of BSU, central unit, will give the opening speeches. The program will be presided over by BSU JU unit president Imran Nadeem.
After that the students of the newest batch will receive their freshers reception followed by an evening of cultural program.
The bands Meghdol and Shohortoli will perform at the cultural program alongside singer Sayeem Joy and Nur Ullah.
Bangladesh Students’ Union, or BSU, founded in 1952, is one of the leading left leaning students’ organisations in Bangladesh that is working for students’ and youth rights.
