He wants to contribute to the artist community with the help from government agencies, TV channel owners, and the audience.
In his recent conversation with Dhaka Tribune, the veteran artist talked about his agenda. “As we are a community of respected and beloved artists from across the country, protecting the rights and dignity of the artists will be our first priority,” Sachchu said.
He added, “We are going to set a one hundred and eleven days plan together which will bring out our agenda. Firstly, we want to make an updated and modern constitution for our organisation. Most of our young and veteran actors are not getting their proper value in the industry. We want to change that.”
To improve the quality of the contents made by the national artists, Sachchu wants the novice artists to be properly trained and motivated. As he stated, “Novice artists will be trained to make quality contents. We want to create world class artists and to do so, we will try to make deals with foreign embassies to arrange cultural exchange for the artists.”
When asked about the ongoing movements of the artists against the broadcasting of foreign dramas and serials on national TV channels, Shahidul Alam Sachchu said that he wants to fight these with quality contents.
Besides, he is willing to arrange dialogues among the artists and TV channel owners to resolve the issues. “We will pursue the TV channels to buy our contents with proper monetary value. We will sit with the artists and the owners, and make them listen to the artists. They will have to know our demands.”
