Lara Dutta to adapt ‘The Meadow’ into a series

Lara Dutta’s production house Bheegi Basanti Entertainment will produce an international drama series based on Adrian Levy and Cathy Scott-Clark’s 2012 book “The Meadow,” reported Bombay Times. The journalists’ book revolves around the 1995 kidnapping of six westerners in the Kashmir valley by a terrorist group. “When I read The Meadow many years ago, I knew it would be something I would definitely find a way to showcase,” she told the publication. “Now with the rights in hand, this is definitely going to be something exciting that a global audience will see originating from India.” Dutta’s banner will also co-produce a film based on the Chattisgarh women’s basketball team along with British producer Jonathan Cavendish, who has earlier backed the Bridget Jones films and Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2005).  This article was first published on Scroll.In and is being republished under special arrangement.
