Bollywood star Urmila Matondkar is returning to the silver screen in the song Beware Beauty in Irrfan Khan’s upcoming film Blackmail.
Composed by Amit Trivedi and performed by Pawni Pandey, the song will have the actress showcase some stunning dance moves on the big screen. The song is already generating a lot of buzz after the Mast girl’s comeback was announced. The actress made the announcement on her Instagram page much to the delight of her 162k followers on March 22, 2018.
Urmila Matondkar is still remembered for her sensuality and her iconic numbers like Tanha Tanha in Rangeela and Aa Hi Jaaye in Lajja. She was a major star of the 1990s.
Filmmaker Abhinay Deo, who roped in Urmila Matondkar for a special song in his upcoming film Blackmail, has said the 90s diva was the only choice for Bewafa Beauty, the song, since the beginning and he didn’t have to try hard to convince.
Deo wants it made very clear that Urmila is not in this for decorative cheap thrills. “There is an actual reason why she is dancing. Of course it is a bar dance, so there is a certain level of cheesiness to the aura.”
But Urmila remains forever classy. “Of course. When we had this special song-and-dance number ‘Bewafa Beauty’, we thought of only Urmila. She brings so much gravitas and gorgeousness to the song. And the number ‘Bewafa Beauty’ actually narrates the entire plot of the film. So, we needed someone who could be a blend of the serious and saucy. Urmila fit the bill perfectly. I am so glad she agreed to be part of our film,” Deo said.
With his leading man Irrfan Khan indisposed, Deo is promoting the film all by himself. “We all miss Irrfan at the promotional events. And since he was the face of our film, we are a bit lost. But nothing is more important than his health.”
