The 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place on Sunday night in Los Angeles, which is early Monday morning in Bangladesh. The awards are held annually since 1995 and nominations span 15 categories for actors and stunt performers.
This year’s lineup of presenters is predominantly female, which was a resolution made in the wake of the 2017 Women's March. The decision is now timelier than ever with the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements.
Actor Kristen Bell will host this year’s SAG Awards where Aziz Ansari and James Franco are nominees. The two actors have recently faced allegations of sexual misconduct.
Ansari, who has been at the centre of a debate about sexual consent vs. coercion over the past week, is nominated for best actor in a comedy series for Netflix’s "Master of None."

Franco, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by several women, is nominated for best actor for the film "The Disaster Artist," which he also helmed. Franco is expected to attend SAG Awards despite everything, a rep for the actor told CNN. Meanwhile Scarlett Johansson gave a powerful speech at the Women’s March 2018 rally on Saturday in Los Angeles where she called out Franco for his hypocrisy and asked for her “Time’s Up” pin back.
