Most anticipated Bollywood movies of 2018

For a film industry, Bollywood is full of surprises. The film industry, which is actually the world's largest in terms of film productions, with an annual output of 1,986 feature films as of 2017. With extravagant songs and dance numbers, love triangles, comedy, action and dare-devil thrills, the industry keeps its aficionados on their toes throughout the year and hopefully, 2018 will be nothing less than another vivid Bollywood year. By providing some sneak peeks, many of the impending B-town films have already created buzz among the audience. Here's a look at some of the upcoming Bollywood films, which are going to be released within the year 2018.Thugs of HindostanThe upcoming Indian epic period action adventure film is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. “Thugs of Hindostan” features a stellar cast, including the likes of Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Katrina Kaif. The well anticipated film is based on Philip Meadows Taylor's 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug, about a gang of Thugs who posed a serious challenge to the British Empire in India (then known as Hindustan or Hindostan) during the early 19th century. “Thugs of Hindostan” is set to be released during Diwali on 7 November 2018.ZeroThe Anand L Rai venture will chronicle the story of Raj, who struggles to find love and pairs himself up with one of the most wanted women on earth. Not knowing what to expect in return. SRK plays the lead role alongside Katrina Kaif in the film. Shah Rukh Khan and Aanand L Rai just revealed the title and teaser of their new film on January 2 and it has already created quite a buzz around the web. The poster featuring a dwarf SRK smiling, dressed in shorts and a tux is itself enough to keep their fans anticipating for the film. Zero will be released on December 21, 2018.Race 3The third instalment of the high octane action franchise is being directed by Remo D'Souza. Salman Khan, who is currently busy shooting for the film, will be seen playing the lead character. With the announcement of Anil Kapoor joining the cast, the film will surely stay on top of the viewer's attention. “Race 3” will narrate the story of a landowner who gets sabotaged by a criminal. The film is slated to release on June 15, 2018.BrahmastraThe first part of the coming Bollywood superhero trilogy will be helmed by director Ayan Mukerji. Bollywood sensation Alia Bhatt will be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time in the adventure, drama and sci-fi film. “Brahmastra” stars Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. The crew of the film were recently seen in Tel Aviv, Israel and they are reportedly preparing for their upcoming film there.SimbaThe anticipation began when Rohit Shetty, the director announced: “I am doing a film with Ranveer which will be full of action. This will be the first time people will see him performing so many action sequences. He has great energy and after working with him in a commercial, even I believe so.” The film, which will depict Ranveer Singh as inspector Sangram Bhalerao, is reportedly inspired from NTR's film “Temper” However, Rohit insisted that the film was not a remake, but fans will only see a few scenes from the southern film incorporated in the film. Karan and Ranveer, recently, took to their social media accounts and shared the first look of Ranveer as Inspector Sangram Bhalerao. Dressed in the statutory uniform with a handlebar moustache and a wide smile on his face, the actor looks just as much interested in comedy as opposed to what policemen are supposed to do onscreen -- kick some backsides that is. The film will hit the theatres next year and is slated to hit theatres on 28th December 2018.JungleeThe commencement of the shoot of Vidyut Jammwal starred “Junglee” started on December 5, 2017 in Thailand. The action-thriller, directed by “The Musk” famed American director Chuck Russell, is about a unique relationship between a man and elephants, where Vidyut essays the role of a veterinarian who, on his homecoming to his elephant reserve, encounters and fights an international poachers racket. The film will be released on October 19, 2018. The production company, Junglee Pictures, has two other films queued up. One of the films is an espionage thriller titled “Raazi” which will feature Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles and is set to release on May 11, 2018. The other one is a coming-of-age film starring Ayushmann Khurrana. The film titled “Badhaai Ho” will roll out by the end of January 2018.PadmanAfter having a box-office and critical blast with “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha,” Akshay Kumar is all geared up for yet another thought-provoking film, “Padman”. Co-starring with Sonam Kapoor, the actor has already left his fans intrigued with the poster of the film. Both Akshay and Sonam are now in New York along and according to reports, they will be shooting the last leg of the film in the New York City. “Padman” is the first production venture of Twinkle Khanna. The film, directed by R Balki, also stars Radhika Apte who plays Akshay’s wife in the film and Sonam Kapoor who plays the character of a tabla player in the movie.
