Update : 03 Jan 2018, 10:05 PM
American actor Gillian Anderson who has been playing special agent Dana Scully in the science fiction drama “The X-Files” since 1993 recently told Insider TV that she will quit after its upcoming eleventh season. Back in October Anderson hinted the decision that she would be leaving the show after season 11 launched on January 3 on Fox. She recently confirmed her decision in an interview with Insider TV saying, “I’ve said from the beginning this is it for me.” “I was a bit surprised by people’s (shocked) reaction to my announcement because my understanding was that this was a single season,” she added commenting to the massive amount of tweets from fans requesting her not to leave the show. “The X-Files,” created by Chris Carter, features supernatural occurrences that are investigated by FBI special agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). The show ran between 1993 and 2003 for nine seasons and later was revived for a short tenth season in 2016. The eleventh edition premiered on Fox TV on Wednesday.
