Keeping on with his tradition of naming his favourite songs from the past year on every New Year's Eve, former US president Barack Obama shared his favourite songs from 2017 on his Facebook page in the early hours of 2018.
“During my presidency, I started a tradition of sharing my reading lists and playlists,” Obama wrote in his post on Sunday. “It was a nice way to reflect on the works that resonated with me and lift up authors and artists from around the world.
“With some extra time on my hands this year to catch up, I wanted to share the books and music that I enjoyed most,” he said.
Lamar’s “Humble,” JAY-Z’s “Family Feud,” U2’s “Ordinary Love (Extraordinary Mix)” and Style’s “Sign of the Times,” along with Montana’s “Unforgettable,” made it to Obama's list of favourite music in the year 2017.
“Born in the USA” by Bruce Springsteen received an honourable mention, but the former US president said he preferred the Blues version of the song in Springsteen's Broadway show.
