Update : 30 Dec 2017, 09:31 PM
The Ministry of Information has ordered Jaaz Multimedia, one of the largest film production and distribution companies in Bangladesh, to screen “Putra,” a film chronicling the lives of autistic children. The order states to show the film all the theatres around the country, screening with the digital technology of Jaaz. The ministry also directed the production house not to release any other film during that time. District commissioners of each of the 64 districts will monitor whether the directions are being followed, the ministry added. When contacted by several local media outlets, Jaaz Multimedia Chairman Abdul Aziz said that the decision has come from the government hence, he has nothing to do but follow the orders. Tagging the type of accumulative projection as a violation of the screening rules, Aziz said he will discuss the matter in details with the secretary to the ministry. Based on a true story, Harun Rashid penned the concept, screenplay and dialogues for “Putra.” The film, which has been produced by Directorate of Films and Publications, is an initiative of the ministry. “Putra” is under overall supervision of Impress telefilms. The film features a stellar cast, including the likes of Jaya Ahsan, Ferdous and Azizul Hakim in different roles.
