'Bengali Beauty' to be released in February

Mumtaheena Chowdhury Toya’s debut feature film “Bengali Beauty” will be released on February 9, 2018 in England, India and the UAE. The trailer has been making its rounds on social media since August. “Bengali Beauty” is a love story set in the 70s, during a time of political turmoil. The previews do not disclose too much information about the story or the characters, but viewers can look forward to captivating costumes and sets from the past. The film wrapped up shooting in May and hopes to release the film in Bangladesh at the same time as its international release, if the censor board gives them the green light. Toya has said she is very pleased with the movie. American- Bangladeshi actor Rahsaan Noor stars opposite Toya in “Bengali Beauty”. He has previously starred in two feature films:“Simanaheen” (2013) and “The Spectacular Jihad of Taz Rahim” (2015) opposite Bollywood actor Monica Dogra. Produced by Rafi Tamzid, the movie also features Pijush Bandyopadhyay, Sarah Alam and Ashfaq Rezwan.
