Fourth rape accusation against Roman Polanski

Update : 05 Oct 2017, 10:15 PM
French-Polish film director Rajmund Roman Thierry Polański, commonly known as Roman Polanski, has been accused of raping a minor. This is the fourth time Polanski has been accused of rape. According to the Associated Press, 61-year-old German actress Renate Langer told the Swiss police that the filmmaker raped her at his chalet in Gstaad, Switzerland when she was 15-years-old. Renate had traveled to Gstaad because the director wanted to cast her in one of his films and claimed she was  assaulted in February 1972. This is the latest allegation made by a total of four women, against 84-year-old Polanski, who is now married with two children. Renate met the detectives in the Swiss town of Gallen last week, when she made a formal complaint against the director. When asked by the New York Times why she did not report the matter earlier, Renate said she had felt ashamed and alone. Renate added that she was worried her mother would have suffered from a heart attack if she had known, and waited until both her parents passed away before filing a complaint. In August 2017, an American woman identified as Robin M said Polanski assaulted her in 1973 when she was 16. In 2010 British actress Charlotte Lewis claimed she was sexually assaulted by Polanski when she was 16. Polanski’s lawyers refuse to discuss Renate’s accusation. They have denied all previous claims, except Samantha Geimer’s (commonly known as Samantha Gailey). Judges in California have refused to drop the outstanding case against Polanski on two occasions and are working on an international arrest warrant. In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Polanski said: “As far as what I did, it’s over. I pleaded guilty.”
