September 10 is the birthday of Ekushey Padak and five-time National Film Award winning veteran actor, screenwriter and director ATM Shamsuzzaman. Today is also the birthday of three-time National Film Award winning actress Popy.
This year Popy has no plans for her birthday, as she is ill. On the other hand, ATM Shamsuzzaman’s birthday celebration will begin by participating in the celebrity talk show ‘Taroka Kathan’ on Channel i. Produced by Ananna Ruma and anchored by Dilruba Sathy, ATM Shamsuzzaman will spending time conversing with several of colleagues in the program. DhakaLive reports that Popy might appear in the same programme.
Born in Daulatpur, Noakhali on September 10, 1941, ATM Shamsuzzaman turns 77 today. The veteral actor started his career in film as an assistant director and worked with prominent directors like Khan Ataur Rahman, Kazi Zahir and Subhash Dutta, among many others.
“I was never really interested in the idea of celebrating my birthday, and I still don’t have any fascination about it,” said the awrd winning actor. Saying that he wishes to live “thousand years” the actor commented that birthdays always remind him of his mortality and he doesn't like that.
Popy on the other hand doesn't mind if family members and well-wishers want to celebrate the day. She only seeks blessings from everyone for her good health and happy life, she said. The actress hasn't celebrated birthdays in the last few years and wishes to spend peaceful time with the people close to her.
