Julia Roberts is the latest addition to that list. The series is based on Maria Semple's latest novel, Today Will Be Different. Roberts will play the role of Eleanor Flood- a woman with high hopes of having the best day ever, until her plans are disrupted by an unexpected future.
Annapurna Pictures, Red Om Film company and ex-HBO executive, Sue Naegle are working together for the production.
"I’m giddy that Eleanor Flood will be brought to life by Julia Roberts and am elated to collaborate with Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle and the team at Annapurna, on this endeavor. This will be a fun ride!" Semple said in a statement.
In the past, Roberts made a few TV appearances on various TV shows, but this is her first TV show where she will star in major role. Before the internet era, movie stars never came back to TV. But, it seems like the tables have turned a bit. When people like Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Spacey and Halle Berry are signing up for shows, you can say that television is becoming a hot destination for Hollywood stars.
