The country’s biggest pop-culture carnival returns in grand style, with more cosplayers, artists, musicians, merchandise and of course, superheroes. Dhaka Comicon 2016 'In Brightest Day' is taking place at Jamuna Future Park, Level-5 from December 15 to 17. Gates open at 11am daily, and close at 9pm. Tickets are priced at Tk200 each day.
Like every year, this year’s event is action-packed with lots and lots of content. The annual Cosplay, Fan Art and Action Figure Photography Contest, will all be taking place in this three-day extravaganza. Adding to the attraction, is the legendary band Cryptic Fate and fan favourites Uptown Lokolz, Apeiruss and Indalo to name just some of the artists, who will be entertaining the audience with their groovy beats.
Along with Dhaka Comicon, the stalls selling merchandise will also be running day-long contests. In other words, not only do cosplayers and photographers get to win stuff, but the audience too, can win prizes. This year, the audience will also be experiencing a flavour of K-pop with “Get your K-on” performing on stage and also BBOTS. International brands such as Sony will be showcasing products as well, and have stage presence daily, with activities from platforms such as MTalent, Directors Cap, Artist Spread, and Campus Sound Box, further enhancing the Dhaka Comicon 2016 experience. As always, there will be caricature booths from We Draw Stuff and Cartoon People, and new releases from local publishers, such as Mighty Punch and Dhaka Comics.
Don’t forget to visit the massively interactive booths of event radio partners, Radio Dhol 94.0FM and Jago FM 94.4, and of course all the vendor booths bringing you international merchandise from brands, such as Lego, Neca, Hasbro, and so much more. Every year Dhaka Comicon plays hosts to thousands of hopeful visitors. It is an escape from reality, an entry to the world of fantasy. This year it will be that, and much more.
