Youth Opportunities, a platform for young people, has launched iOS mobile application.
Canadian High Commissioner Benoit Prefontainte launched the website at Software Technology Park in Dhaka's Janata Tower on Sunday.
Youth Opportunities, the largest global discovery platform for young people, provides equal and easy access to different opportunities to the global youth for free.
For its value added work, Youth Opportunities has received several awards such as the Queen’s Young Leaders Award from Queen Elizabeth II in 2016 and Forbes Under 30 in Asia.
Earlier in January, the platform opened its Bangla website to help youth from Bangladesh find information on national and international opportunities.
Last year, it launched a mobile application- currently being used by more than 50,000 users globally- that received the National Mobile Application Award from the government's ICT division.
At the event, the Canadian ambassador said the technology has managed to create a free and open-access platform which empowers today's youth to achieve their educational and career goals.
"It connects young people around the world, and provides them with limitless opportunities," he said.
Osama Bin Noor, co-founder of Youth Opportunities, spoke about the services Youth Opportunities has been providing.
"After launching the android mobile application, we got many requests for the development of an iOS mobile application," Osama said.
"We hope Youth Opportunities will help young people achieve success in no time," he added. "Our application will accelerate the process of their search for a better tomorrow."
In a video message sent from the UK, Maksud Manik, another co-founder, said the new iOS mobile application will help users of Apple products remain updated about life-changing opportunities from all across the world.
Md Harunur Rashid, former additional secretary (ICT wing) of ICT division said the launch of the application is a step towards making Bangladesh more globally connected.
"We hope the application will reach the 100,000 users milestone soon," he said.
The program was attended by senior government officials, prominent social and business leaders, respected academics and media personalities.
