An evening unveiling the artistic genius of esteemed native fashion designers Nashra, Rabab Rahman, and Safiya Sathi alongside international fashion designer and founder of Fashion Art, Akou Delacour, the third season of Fashion Art was held at the American Embassy Employee's Association (AEEA) in Dhaka on October 27.

Complementing an outdoor autumn setting with vibrant blues and golds, event decorator Sanjida Haq Arefin Luna masterfully decked the scene with foliage centered around the garden of Eden, with all eyes on a majestic glittery serpent wrapped around an apple tree that is bound to catch anyone's attention. With his ambient recital, cellist Razef Khan brought life into the evening and set the perfect mood for a successful fashion art show.
Before the show kicked off, the designers and sponsors in attendance were awarded for their contribution to what was a night to remember for the fashion scene in Dhaka.

The gala was opened by Safiya Sathi's enchanting collection consisting of an overall contemporary–traditional theme carried out brilliantly by a line of celestial models. Sequins, flowy tassels, regal velvet, feathers, fringe, and fur ornamented with pearls -- the acclaimed designer experimented with different textures in her designs and gave new meaning to bridal couture.

Mehedi Hasan/Dhaka TribuneWith an experience of over 10 years in the fashion industry, Rabab Rahman, popularly known as Rababe, introduced her exclusive collection of rustic, earthly pieces of fits, followed by a series of quirky and fun-loving designs that played with shapes and colors. From metallic drapes of copper and gold accessorized with diamonds, to quirky pop art prints, neon greens, and rainbows, Rabab was not afraid to colour outside the lines and play with different themes in her eclectic compilation of outfits.

Mehedi Hasan/Dhaka TribuneNashra's indo-western cuts added uniqueness to the runway when beautiful models walked out in cozy neutral shades with a recurring lotus pattern in every outfit, masterfully representing grace and beauty in simplicity, as is in each lotus petal. Clever marks of hot pink and bright colours to accentuate the somber collection of apparel, followed by an all-white high-collared bodysuit with a ruffled cape for brilliant contrast was a stroke of genius from Nashra's end.
Mehedi Hasan/Dhaka TribuneEnding the night on a momentous note entered Maison Delacour by Akou Delacour -- the founder of Fashion Art and globally recognized fashion designer, whose avant-garde approach to fashion brought the perfect end to a spectacular night. With Ausmaul Kabir raising the roof with crazy beats, Akou Delacour's quirky shapes, extra-terrestrial theme, and camp-inspired designs marveled the crowd, and once again stole the show and the crowd's hearts alike.

About the organizers
Akou Delacour partnered with Sarjil Ahmed Kazi Muttaqui to organize the Fashion Art event this year. Akou Delacour, an ESMOD alumnus, has participated in dozens of fashion shows all around the world under the label AKOU Fashion, from Brooklyn Fashion Week to Howard Homecoming Fashion Show to West Africa to South Asia. The first and second seasons of this Fashion Art Event were also organized and founded by this virtuoso.
Sarjil Ahmed Kazi Muttaqui is a born social engineer and an entrepreneur passionate about making a change. He earned a Law degree from the University of London and is currently running his own business venture called Sustainable Fashion, a company centered around recycling textile waste. Besides his own ventures, Sarjil is also the current Managing Director of K Ahmed and Company.
