The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at many places across Bangladesh.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions, with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places across the country, said a BMD bulletin valid for 24 hours from 9am on Saturday.

The ongoing mild heatwave is likely to continue in two districts of the country.

A mild heatwave is sweeping over Jessore and Chuadanga, and it may continue, said the bulletin.

Besides, day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

The country's highest temperature on Friday was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga and the lowest on Saturday was 24 degrees Celsius in Sitakunda.

The highest rainfall in the 24 hours to 6am on Saturday was recorded at 119mm in Sylhet.

The sun sets at 6.15pm on Saturday and rises at 5.41am on Sunday in the capital.
