On the International Women's Day celebrations, Ujjwala, a leading social enterprise of Bangladesh, recognized more than 100 women entrepreneurs from the Beauty and Grooming Industry for their outstanding work and contribution to society.
The awardees, all Ujjwala alumni coming from diverse economic backgrounds and districts of the country, have excelled in their profession and have been significantly complementing the economic wellbeing of the society, reads a press release.
The event coined 'Rupangone Ujjwala’R Shikriti', was organized on Sunday at Hotel Intercontinental in Shahbag, Dhaka. Three different categories of awards, 'Shera Ujjwala', 'Shreshtho Ujjwala' and 'Adamya Ujjwala' were conferred to the recipients depending on their achievements and impact on the industry.
The event was graced by the Minister for Industry Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun as the chief guest and included Former State Minister for Women and Child Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki as the special guest. The guest of honour for the evening was decorated Cultural Personality Afsana Mimi.
On the occasion, Ujjwala embarked on the next phase of its journey by launching an exclusive range of “fair priced” personal care products viz. shampoos, hair oils and body oils under the brand name “Ujjwala Care”.
The products, using pure natural ingredients which have been sourced locally, promises to comprehensively deliver on the consumer needs since it is designed by Beauty experts keeping in mind the environmental nuances of Bangladesh. The initiative will further support and boost the livelihood goal of the fraternity.
