Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at different places across the country, a Met Office release said on Sunday.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” it said.

Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country.

The well-marked low over Jarkhand and the adjoining area off North Jarkhand now lie over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas as a low.

The monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, the centre of the low, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

The country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 34.9°C in Sylhet and minimum temperature on Sunday was at 25°C jointly in Chittagong and Rangamati.

Country’s highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Sunday was recorded 90mm at Feni.

The time of sunset in the capital is 6:45pm on Sunday, and sunrise is at 5:25am on Monday.
