Bangladesh and Vietnam have shared a long-standing relationship for decades now, and it is extremely encouraging to see bilateral trade between the two emerging nations being strengthened.
During FY21, two-way trade between the two countries amounted to $739.89 million, while by September of this year, the trade value exceeded $1.1m.
Current figures state that goods exported from Bangladesh to Vietnam can be valued at $61.29m, while import figures stand at $678.6m.
These are very promising numbers, and have the potential to grow further with the right initiatives.
Representatives of both countries have reiterated the same ambitions at a business networking meeting held in the capital on Tuesday. With the resources at each nation's disposal, both Bangladesh and Vietnam recognize the ample scopes for further investments and partnership.
Considering the distinct strengths of the two friendly countries, both share inter-complementary trade relations, and can mutually benefit from stronger bilateral ties and economic partnership.
Vietnamese businesses can pursue a multitude of joint ventures with Bangladesh, and invest in our special economic zones and hi-tech parks -- all of which will significantly bolster both our economies and our global standing as rapidly developing countries.
This is an opportunity that we cannot pass up. Having an ally like Vietnam can certainly aid us in our progress as a nation, and we must waste no time to explore more avenues of trade, and strategize long-term plans to reap the most benefits.
If both nations approach the matter with careful consideration, our trade opportunities with Vietnam can reach greater heights, further cementing our already solid bilateral ties.
