To be the best

What a game. Bangladesh’s performance in cricket has been nothing if not stellar in the past couple of years. But yesterday’s Test match win against Australia has proven, once and for all, that Bangladesh is as good as any cricketing team in the world. It cannot be denied that Australia is one of the best, if not the best, cricketing nation in the world. They have won the World Cup four times. As such, it cannot be denied either that Bangladesh’s triumph over the Aussies marks a significant point in our cricketing history. The world needs to know this: We are a cricketing side to be feared and respected. What is important now, however, is that we keep playing the way we have, and work on the various weaknesses which plague our team. Though performances from the likes of Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal brought us back into the game, we have to learn to be more consistent in the future, especially when it comes to our batting. The future for Bangladesh is bright. Let’s hope we perform even better in the next match.
