“Bongo Puran” and “Montri Kodom Ali” were staged on the concluding day of two-day “Natya Utsab-2013” held at Zila Shilpakala Academy auditorium in Mymensingh on Saturday.
Onsumble Theatre, a noted drama group in Mymensingh organised the festival.
Natyalaya, a drama troupe from Jatiyo Kobi Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Trishal staged “Bonga Puran” directed by Al Jabeer.
The festival was ended with the performance of Chhayanaut Sangstha Sangskritik Dal’s performance on “Montri Kodom Ali,”written by SM Solaiman and directed by Sharif Mafuzul Hoque.
The festival began with the staging of Abdullah Al-Mamun’s famous play “Kokila”by the host troupe. Directed by Abul Mansur, the play that focuses on the spirit of liberation war drew a huge crowd.
Sareng Theatre staged a comedy titled “Ek Je Chhilo Sonar Konya” based on contemporary social problems on the opening day’s schedule. The play is written by Rezwanul Hasan Khan and directed by Gazi Manik.
Earlier, Shahadat Hossain Khan Hilu, secretary of Bahurupi Natya Sangstha and convener of the festival committee inaugurated the festival. Fayzur Rahman Fakir, chairman of Mymensingh Sadar Upazilla Parishad was present at the opening session as the chief guest.
