Inauguration of Nestlé Nutrition Institute Knowledge Home

Nestlé Nutrition Institute (NNI) and Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College and Hospital (HFRCMCH) inaugurated Nestlé Nutrition Institute Knowledge Home on Janurary 2 in a programme held at the auditorium of Holy Family hospital.

Professor Dr Md Habibe Millat, MP, Member-Standing Committee, Ministry of Social Welfare and Bangladesh Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (BAPPD) and vice-chairman-Bangladesh at Red Crescent Society attended the event as the chief guest. The event was chaired by Professor Dr Md Maniruzzaman Bhuiyan, principal, Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College and Hospital and president at BPMPA. Stéphane Nordé, MD, Nestlé Bangladesh Limited, was present at the event as the special guest. Luke John Gomes, director, Nutrition and Naquib Khan, director, Corporate Affairs of Nestlé Bangladesh, were also present at the event on behalf of Nestlé.

At the event, the chairperson of the Knowledge Home committee professor Dr Md Maniruzzaman Bhuiyan announced the total number of members of the committee. The committee will conduct a meeting every month and visit NNI website to choose a topic and discuss it among them. They will formulate the benefits and its implications in the day-to-day activities in Bangladesh. This event is the first of its kind in South Asian region.

The chief guest, professor Dr Md Habibe Millat, in his speech, thanked NNI and Holy Family Hospital for taking this initiative.

In collaboration with the government of Bangladesh, HCPs, NGOs, media and others, NNI promotes issues such as of breast feeding, building capabilities of HCPs in the medical fraternity of our country.
