Satkhira Bazaar was established in 2014 with the intentions of selling Bangladeshi-made products in the United States, Australia and Europe. The endeavour was an extension of the philanthropic work of its parent organisation, Emerson Manufacturing Company, Inc.
With support from Zakir Hossain, founder of Qadria Aluminium Fabricators, Satkhira Bazaar has been successful in sourcing various products from rural Bangladesh. Their primary focus is to empower the women living in the rural areas of the country.
