Dhaka University Tourist Society hits two decades

Dhaka University Tourist Society (DUTS), a campus based non-voluntary tourism organisation in Bangladesh, is going to arrange a grand program on October 31 at TSC, Univerity of Dhaka, to mark two decades in operations. On the day, a colourful rally, a tree plantation program, a formal program, a grand cultural program and a spectacular lantern festival shall be arranged to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

As the objectives of the ceremony, DUTS expects to promote local cultures, travelling spots, and beauties all over the country as well as its achievements through these two decades. Their goal is to encourage people to travel around the country first and make them aware of the benefits of tourism.

Prof A A M S Arefin Siddique, vice chancellor, University of Dhaka; Akhtaruz Zaman Khan Kabir, chief executive officer, Bangladesh Tourism Board; Aparup Chowdhury, PhD (additional secretary), chairman, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation; Prof Masuda M Rashid Chowdhury, Department of Sociology, University of Dhaka; Prof Md Anwarul Islam, chairman, Department of Zoology, University of Dhaka; Dr Mojib Uddin Ahamed, chairman, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management; Gazi Alif Laila, Department of Political Science, University of Dhaka and Md Alamgir Hossain, director, TSC will be the honourable guests at the program.
