Mozilla, the developers of Firefox, have recently launched a new website called Send. In the most basic terms, the website allows one person to send a file to another. Once the receiver has downloaded the file, the file disappears forever. Well, that’s if you don’t decide to upload the same file again.
You might wonder, “Well, what’s the big deal? Why will I need this service?” Sure, it may seem like a gimmick but it’s meant for a quick and private transaction between two people. It’s definitely for those who are seeking a service closer to Dropbox. Mozilla Send’s files are encrypted and will disappear after one download or wait until it has been up for 24 hours.
The website supports files up to 1GB. Once the file has been uploaded, it will provide you a link that you can send to the person you are trying to reach.
The whole system is simple and easy to use but for now, the company is simply keeping this on a temporary basis. It might not even be around for too long, unless of course, it catches on and more users visit the site frequently. Head on over to http://send.firefox.com and give it a try.
