Krav Maga (contact combat), a military self-defense and fighting system, is derived from the street-fighting experience of Hungarian-Israeli martial artist Imi Lichtenfeld in the late 1950s. Initially, it was taught to the Israeli Defense Forces and Israeli Security Forces. It derives from a combination of techniques sourced from judo, karate, boxing, aikido, and wrestling along with realistic fight training. Later on, Krav Maga was taught to civilians as well. It has three different forms, civilian (self-defense), law enforcement (arrest or detain) and military training.
During late 2002, Khosru Parvez (Rumi) started personal training sessions, fitness consultancy on assessments, program setting and diet modifications for the first time in Bangladesh. Since then, he has been training individuals on this unique self-defense program with the motive of spreading awareness of the Krav Maga movement and self-defense solution throughout the country. They share information, updates, pictures and videos regarding relevant events operating as a communication hub on Facebook for those who are interested to learn this military combat system.
There are many self-defense training styles practised throughout the world. When it comes to choosing one over the other, we end up questioning: Which one is better?
In regards to self-defense training, no style or system is superior to the other. It always depends on the practitioner, how one perceives it, studies it deeply, trains on it and applies it. All systems are effective if you learn it with an open mind and use it accordingly. Krav Maga specializes in street survival and warfare, hence it is battle-tested. No points, no rules. You are up against single or multiple attackers, armed or unarmed-- now SURVIVE. It's the real world solution to real world violence.
It has a lot of perks which can aid a practitioner in many ways-- you get to learn the realistic self defense system evolved for real world violence. While learning, you can achieve functional fitness that means improvement in strength, stamina, endurance, agility, coordination and overall fitness. During training, you can develop situation awareness and overall, the boost of confidence you gain is something that most of us lack in a situation where we feel endangered.
However, there’s a common misconception about the fact that the brain does not function logically while going through a life or death situation. This state of mind is a huge barrier for the brain. It leads us astray from enhancing our brain cells, which is why we often stick to the stigma. Krav Maga focuses on keeping you alive because this is exactly what it was created for, and what practitioners use it for today. It is battle-tested, always evolving and the martial art of choice for the most efficient militaries and law enforcement agencies around the world.
Krav Maga has been here (in our country) for long, it all started with one man and now the network is spreading. It would not have been possible without the dedication of a few who took the initiative to create such a platform. Speaking of practitioners, Edward Francis Gomes trained and studied in a few martial art styles for a good number of years until he came to the point where he wanted to learn something without any specific format, where he could explore all that is related to contact combat and weapons. He was researching and came to know of the International Krav Maga expert in Bangladesh. He started training under this master.
“It is an honour that I have had the opportunity to train under Chief Instructor Khosru Parvez (Tactical Krav Maga International), my mentor. It is not just the style itself but also him. He is the prime reason for my interests and dedication towards Krav Maga.” said Edward.
Edward Francis Gomes is one of the few dedicated students of Khosru Parvez, who learned a unique style from his mentor. Now, he is working alongside his master and mentoring practitioners and newbies.

“I hate violence. When there is no other option left except violence, the only option is violence. Therefore, it is better to be trained to master the Art of Violence.
If you want peace, prepare for war.
How do I treat the third party? It is not the VIP. It is my family, my alliance and fellow countrymen. So it's my responsibility to protect them.”

“Un
til and unless it happens to us or our closed ones we don't care, we don't think about it. We think it will never happen to us. Well it might not, but within one second our life can take a wild turn and things can get messy. Better not to wait for that day. Learn to protect yourself, your loved ones, SURVIVE! It is a necessity, not an option.”
