“The Idioms of Chittagong” written by Prof Moniruzaman, former teacher of Bangla Department of Chittagong University (CU), was unveiled on Sunday.
Vice-Chancellor of CU Prof Anwarul Azim Arif uncovered the book at a publication ceremony held at VC’s conference room.
Speaking as the chief guest, the VC said the book would contribute to researches of the students and teachers and it would also represent the university’s image before the knowledge seekers.
Prof Moniruzaman in his speech said the local language of Chittagong was different and a difficult one in the linguistic world.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Ifthekhar Uddin, Prof Dr Sowran Biswash, Convener of CU Press and Publication Office and deans of different faculties were also present at the ceremony.
