Student and social entrepreneur Shahi Al Sadat marked a significant personal milestone by securing a win at the 3rd Inter Astronomical Apogee 2026, an inter-college science and astronomy festival held in Dhaka.
Shahi participated in the Cosmic Case Solving Competition, one of the key segments of the three-day event, which brought together students from several leading colleges across the capital.
The achievement came at a particularly meaningful moment for Shahi, as the event also marked one of his final appearances as a Josephite, alongside two of his closest seniors, Shahriear Tahsin and Sakib Hasan Sourab, both members of the HSC 2026 batch.
For Shahi, the event was therefore more than a competition. It became a final shared memory with two seniors who, he says, have been part of some of the most memorable moments of his college life.
The closing ceremony was attended by Md Ismail Zabiullah, adviser to the prime minister on public administration, holding the rank and status of minister, as chief guest.
The three-day event concluded on September 19.
However, the award ceremony also reflected a personal decision taken by Shahi and his teammates.
For personal reasons, they had decided not to receive their prize directly from the chief guest, and ultimately did not receive the prize from him.
The day ended with Shahi expressing gratitude to his two seniors, describing the occasion as “one last event with them” and “one last memory as a Josephite.”
With the conclusion of the 3rd Inter Astronomical Apogee 2026, the competition added another achievement to Shahi Al Sadat’s student journey while simultaneously marking the closing of a memorable chapter of his Josephite life.
