Cracks have appeared in the building of a community clinic in Dakkhin Surma upazila triggering fear of some deadly accident any time causing loss of lives.
As the cracks became visible, the authorities for a security concern shifted all the activities of the Baldi Community Clinic in Tetli union to a nearby house.
For works of relocating the clinic to new premises, medical services to the local poor patients were temporarily hampered.
Dr Nazrul Islam, in-charge of the healthcare centre, blamed faulty construction for the cracks that have developed in the building of the community clinic established in Tetli union in 1999.
The cracks are widening day by day, much to the worry of the local people.
Terming the role the clinic is playing in providing healthcare service to the poor people a praiseworthy one, locals have demanded reconstruction of the clinic building on an emergency basis.
