The Khulna Metropolitan Police has identified 128 polling centres as very risky and 66 centres less risky out of a total 289 centres in the Khulna City Corporation area.
The election to the KCC is scheduled for June 15.
Five police stations in the city corporation area and special branch of KMP prepared the list of very risky and less risky polling centres after completing an investigation, said additional deputy commissioner of city special branch Rashida Begum, according to BSS.
The KMP will send the list to the returning officer for necessary measures, she said adding adequate police force would be deployed at the very risky and risky centres as per the directives of the home ministry.
Khulna returning officer Mostofa Faruque told Dhaka Tribune: “We have asked, in a meeting of law and order committee, to identify risky and less risky polling centres. We will take necessary steps on receipt of the KMP list for a free and fair election.”
